Our Action Group Opposes the WAPC Proposal to reroute the East/West Freight Rail Link through Midland and Hazelmere in Western Australia.

WHAT IS HAMMER?

HAMMER was formed and registered by local business owners in the Hazelmere and Bellevue area of Western Australia to OPPOSE the WAPC plan to re-route the East-West Freight rail line through Bellevue, Hazelmere and Midland. Many of the businesses affected by the Freight Rail re-alignment are facing permanent closure and job losses for employees.

THIS RAIL RE-ALIGNMENT WILL AFFECT ALL MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. Property values in the Bellevue, Hazelmere and Midland areas will plummet if this rail re-alignment is permitted to proceed. Even if the rail re-alignement takes years to eventuate, all the properties affected by the Planning Control Area will be sterilized with no prospect for development or resale.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO STOP THE WA PLANNING COMMISSION IN ITS TRACKS.

Midland Freight Rail Realignment - March 2018 Metropolitan Region Scheme Amendment 1313/41

Please refer to the recent decision by the East Metro JDAP on the proposed Toll Group Warehouse and Transport Depot for Talbot Road, Hazelmere. In particular, reference to the MRWA letter concerning road infrastructure for the Hazelmere industrial area.
We now have three proposals for the intersection of Stirling Cresent and the Great Eastern Highway Bypass.
1. Cull de sac Stirling Cresent
2. Build a Flyover at Stirling Cresent
3. Upgrade the intersection of Stirling Cresent and The Great Eastern Highway Bypass

Where does this leave the Proposed railway plan?
